2020 Toy Run Pictures
The 28th Annual MSRA Toy Run was an immense success. The weather was OK. It started out nice, but the wind came up later on in the day and it was nasty. Despite the wind, the people came. There were at least 150 cars, which considering the conditions, was a very respectable crowd.
Speaking of conditions, you know we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, right? Because of the “conditions”, the Toy Run organizing committee decided to have an actual “run” and prepared a cruise from the Canada Revenue Agency parking lot, which has been the usual location for the Toy Run, to this year’s meeting spot for the MSRA which has been the John Blumberg Golf Course. There was a considerable amount of doubt during the preparation of the event. By 10:30 AM there were so many cars, the first group was sent out on the cruise. Registration was supposed to start at 10:00 AM. The cruise was roughly a 2 1/2 hours long from the CRA Parking Lot to
John Blumberg Golf Course with Trivia Questions and Cruise Questions and tons of prizes. Judging from the number of cars that made it to the golf course end, it appears folks enjoyed the new format!
A couple of acknowledgements are in order:
The dash plaques, were sponsored by Brazier Race & Machine
The t-shirts were sponsored by Omer’s Upholstery, Miller’s Meats, Blumberg Golf Course and West Kildonan Auto Service.
We can’t thank these companies enough for their support. If you get a chance, do your best to support them in turn. The Toy Run and many of the things the car community does wouldn't succeed without sponsors like these.
